Alkane discovers more gold at Tomingley

Alkane Resources has discovered gold mineralisation at several prospects in its Tomingley gold operations site in New South Wales.

Drilling at the McLeans prospect defined mineralisation over 200m strike and 500m down dip. Following this, a maiden underground inferred mineral resource estimation will take place at McLeans later in 2023.

“We continue to explore at Tomingley both within our approved mining areas and regionally,” Alkane managing director Nic Earner said.

“With current plans already extending to 2032 we are seeking to add further mine life, scale, and grade to Tomingley.

“It is pleasing to see the various exploration targets around Tomingley yielding results and we look forward to adding the McLeans deposit to our resource base before the end of the calendar year.”

The discoveries come just months after Alkane reported a bumper third quarter for the 2023 financial year.

The site produced 16,641 ounces of gold, contributing to a total of 54,431 ounces in 2023 so far.

“With approval received in February to extend the life of Tomingley, at increased production rates, we’re progressing the development of the Roswell underground ready for ore production before the end of the calendar year,” Earner said.

Alkane also commenced drilling at the Plains prospect, which sits within the Tomingley site. Drilling at Plains found a 500m by 200m zone of gold mineralisation beneath a cover of 15m.
