Deswik have partnered with global technology company Emesent, the leaders in autonomous LiDAR mapping, to enable mining companies to incorporate high quality data captured in inaccessible locations into their mine plans and surveys.
Their clients are already seeing the benefits of this, including Evolution Mining, who are finding their stope reconciliation is now a much smoother process thanks to this partnership. Evolution Mining’s survey team at Mungari Gold replaced CMS with Emesent Hovermap so they can easily scan stopes to improve stope design and reconciliation.
The Deswik workflow involves importing Hovermap data into Deswik.AdvSurvey, geo-referencing using survey control, cropping, cleaning and converting the point cloud to a solid, followed by boolean operations to calculate extracted volumes. This semi-automated workflow utilises a Process Map co-developed by Deswik and Emesent which enables this workflow to be performed in a matter of minutes.
