Rugby Run achieves top tier performance

Bravus Mining and Resources’ solar farm Rugby Run has continued its high performance as it approaches its fourth year in operation.

A central Queensland renewables project, Rugby Run was the third-highest performing photovoltaic asset in Australia during June.

“Rugby Run is located in one of the best sites in eastern Australia for solar generation,” Bravus business manager – renewables Derek Chapman said. “Achieving this level of consistency of output highlights what a great generation project it is.”

In 2022, industry analyst Rystad Energy named Rugby Run as the second-best performing solar farm in 2021, and again in 2022.

The solar farm was also named Queensland’s top performing utility scale PV facility in both 2021 and 2022. During this time, it provided the equivalent energy to power approximately 23,000 regional Queensland homes and businesses.

Rugby Run has a power purchase agreement with the National Electricity Market to sell 100 per cent of the renewable energy generated, helping to provide cheaper and more sustainable energy to customers.

“As part of the Adani Group, Bravus has benefitted from the group’s experience as the world’s largest multinational solar energy company,” Bravus said in a statement.

“Rugby Run is part of the Adani Group’s vision to create a sustainable energy mix through significant investments in renewables.”
